Follow along as I sign up for Chasing Birdies

You will need to access your email to complete this step.

A quick synopsis:

1. Launch Chasing Birdies

2. Tap Sign up

3. Enter your email address, tap Continue

4. Check your email for the verification code and paste it in, tap Continue

   1. NOTE: Nobody has access to lookup this code for you; it must be retrieved from the email sent to you from app@chasingbirdies.pro. If you do not see it in your email, check your spam folder please.

5. Specify your new password, tap Continue

6. Validate your name is correct, tap Finish

Be sure to use the big blue button that has your league's name in it!

Open Play allows you to record a round that is not tied to league, and is there just as a convenience. Any rounds recorded under Open Play have zero impact on anything related to your league performance, including handicap.

Chasing Birdies should default to the correct 9 holes for the current week and your specific tees.  But double check them to be sure before starting your round, then just tap Start League Week #1

If you like to play the "opposite" 9 holes, be sure to tap the appropriate Front 9 / Back 9 before you start your round.

Chasing Birdies uses GPS to inform you of yardage to front/center/back of the green from your current location.

IMPORTANT: 

For yardages to be reported correctly, you must select the "Allow While Using App" option.  This is the only one that will allow the app to see updated GPS information as you move around the course.  

Selecting the "Allow Once" option will always determine yardage from the exact point you were at when you selected the option and will not update as you move from hole to hole, so yardages will be wildly inaccurate.

Selecting the "Don't Allow" option will cause yardages to always report as 0 but the app can still be used.

This only has to be done once. Subsequent rounds will not prompt you for this if you choose "Allow While Using App".

You are now ready to enter your scores as you play!

Feel free to explore -- anything you do which might delete data will warn you before it does.  

Data is saved silently as you go from one hole to the next, so you can close the app at any time and your previous holes will be saved for the next time you open the app.

This app is still in its infancy, and as such lacks some features as well as fit and finish.  I will be addressing these issues as the season progresses.

Please check out the Settings tab for planned improvements.  Also -- I encourage you to use the Submit Feedback functionality also found on the Settings tab.  Let me know what you would like to see added / changed / etc.

I especially want to know which parts are confusing and need better explanation or redesigned altogether.
